The Tek RMD gets an exciting upgrade

The Tek RMD (Robotic Mobility Device) from Matia Robotics has been a very popular product for paraplegics who want to be able to stand (with great posture) and move around indoors at the same time.

Being able to stand, hands free - in the kitchen, in the garage or wherever - has proved very liberating to wheelchair users who discover that the world is still largely designed for people who can stand. But the product is not going to be suitable for everyone - for example, those with MS or recovering from a stroke could never use the Tek RMD successfully because to move from sit to stand required some “arm power”.

Although the unit features a gas spring to make rising from the seated position easier, this often wasnt enough to help many interested consumers. The manufacturers have addressed this issue and are introducing a new option that will enable users with little or no arm power to operate the Tek RMD successfully.

Matia Robotics have announced three new options that we expect to be available in late 2020 or early 2021 - the Electrical Lifter, Outdoor Wheel Kit and Folding Transfer Seat We are most excited about the Motorised Electric Lifter which we feel will open up the product to many more potential users!

With this option, a gentle squeeze of the right lever will assist the user to stand and a squeeze of the left to sit down again.

We’re sorry, this is only for UK clients - if you live elsewhere we will pass your details on to your nearest dealer when we can.
